Happy Monday!
I work at a weekly newspaper. That statement is an oxymoron.
But I am going to say it anyway for those few and lucky people
who have Monday off.
We have been so busy around the farm getting ready for our little baby pigs!
They are available May 12th!
We also need to start building our chicken coop. The chickens are huge and
getting their "big girl" feathers! I will take some photos of them tonight.
We also need to plant the garden. However, before we can plant
the garden, I need to remove the old one. Along with all the grass,
weeds, dead plants from the last crop, etc...
Guy and I work full time at our jobs PLUS our work at the farm.
The weekends are packed full of chores and very little of anything else.
But only during certain times of the year. And since the place was in bad shape
when we bought it, we have even more to do just to be "caught up".
We have lots of work to do! Ad that is what we will be doing!! The pay off is
huge and the work load won't be like this forever. That is why I decided to begin the
blog really. To stay in touch ith people while we are starting our "project"
out in Perrydale. It is a big responsiblity that most people can't imagine
or even wish for themselves. Which is fine, Guy and I see it as a challenge with potential
never ending. Guy and I both share the same work ethics, where he may be a harder worker
physically, I understand him and his need to sneak back down to the barn well
after he should have started unloading the pick- up of wood, just so he can
get more hay moved. I understand him. This is where I am happy, this is where
I can be myself, this is where I will be.
Thought I would share some random shots from The Leppin Farm on The Hill!
Come back again~
We have lots of Frogs out here on the farm and I couldn't be happier. Frogs always make me happy! |
Cool picture of Guy's Model T pick-up. Once he gets done restoring it, it will make a great mascot for the farm! |
Farm dogs have it Ruff! Har! Har! |
Our back, back yard. Which consists of two ponds, garden areas and this forest. I can't wait to have the girls out for a night of Fairy Hunting! |
If you look closely the web spells out "Some Farmer!" |
My grape arbor, just thought this was pretty. The color contrast better copper and blue. Happy Colors!!! |
Your farm isn't a job its a lifestyle that you will enjoy - It will bring you closer to each other in more ways than you can imagine. The blog is great and I love your insight. You understand my son so well. You are good for him and he will always be there for you - from a mom who can tell and read between the lines. Fair warning - he loves to put salamanders in ponds.
ReplyDeleteGrace that is very nice of you! I am crazy about your son! You raised a classic and i am very lucky to be able to share this with him.
DeletePeople who truly love you will understand this 100%. Will they be a bit disappointed that they won't get to see you as much? Yes. Will they still love you? Yes. 100%.
ReplyDeleteHugs and baby pig kisses! XOXO
