Staying Alive on the Hill!!!

Happy Monday!

I work at a weekly newspaper. That statement is an oxymoron.
But I am going to say it anyway for those few and lucky people
who have Monday off.

We have been so busy around the farm getting ready for our little baby pigs!
They are available May 12th!

We also need to start building our chicken coop. The chickens are huge and
getting their "big girl" feathers! I will take some photos of them tonight.
We also need to plant the garden. However, before we can plant
the garden, I need to remove the old one. Along with all the grass,
weeds, dead plants from the last crop, etc...

Guy and I work full time at our jobs PLUS our work at the farm.
The weekends are packed full of chores and very little of anything else.
But only during certain times of the year. And since the place was in bad shape
when we bought it, we have even more to do just to be "caught up".
We have lots of work to do! Ad that is what we will be doing!! The pay off is
huge and the work load won't be like this forever. That is why I decided to begin the
blog really. To stay in touch ith people while we are starting our "project"
out in Perrydale. It is a big responsiblity that most people can't imagine
or even wish for themselves. Which is fine, Guy and I see it as a challenge with potential
never ending. Guy and I both share the same work ethics, where he may be a harder worker
physically, I understand him and his need to sneak back down to the barn well
after he should have started unloading the pick- up of wood, just so he can
get more hay moved. I understand him. This is where I am happy, this is where
I can be myself, this is where I will be.

Thought I would share some random shots from The Leppin Farm on The Hill!

Come back again~

We have lots of Frogs out here on the farm and I couldn't be happier.
Frogs always make me happy!

We are trying to get our hot tub into shape!
It turned reddish brown when we added the Shock to the water.
I guess we have a lot of iron and copper and in water.
Actually, the "shock" was on us when we threw it in the water.
The water turned into what looked like beer!  I thought I just witnessed a miracle
and was about to run into the house for the biggest glass available...but false alarm.

Cool picture of Guy's Model T pick-up.
Once he gets done restoring it, it will make a great mascot for the farm!

I took this photo Saturday night, May 5th, waiting for the Full Moon to rise.
Guy and I decided to take
some chairs, wood for a fire, drinks and our sense of adventure
and head down to the back, backyard by the forest area and the two ponds.
We stayed down there for several hours watching and howling at the moon.
Even my middle son Andrew came down to enjoy it for a little while.
It was amazing climbing up over the fir trees!!

Here is a picture of our house taken from the Christmas Trees.
A couple Fridays ago Guy and I cut down and hauled tons of little dead trees
for the bon fire. Which was a huge success. Small gathering mostly of family.
A good practice run for the full on party taking place sometime in the summer.

Farm dogs have it Ruff!
Har! Har!

Our back, back yard. Which consists of two ponds, garden areas and this forest.
I can't wait to have the girls out for a night of Fairy Hunting!

If you look closely the web spells out "Some Farmer!"

My grape arbor, just thought this was pretty.
The color contrast better copper and blue.
Happy Colors!!!
